A Little Bit of History and a Little Bit of Home.

The Dickinson-Greer house was built in 1810. It is said to be the second oldest house in Glasgow. Cherie Vaughan is the Owner/Innkeeper. It is within walking distance of Downtown Glasgow and the Plaza Theatre.  There is plenty of parking in the driveway or behind the building in the parking lot of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.

Hello, I'm Cherie

I moved to Glasgow, KY in January of 2018 when my friend Karin Baldwin Carroll persuaded me to move here to take over the bed and breakfast.  I purchased Main Street Bed and Breakfast in October, 2018.  I love meeting all of the interesting people that stay with me and I love connecting those people with what is going on in our area.  I look forward to meeting you!

I Like
to garden

Gardening is a passion of mine.  I love using fruit and flowers from my garden for breakfast and decorating.  I won some ribbons at the State Fair for my produce.
Meet Kodiak
Kodiak chose me when I found him at the BRAWA shelter.  He was not the one I was going to choose but I'm glad I got him.  They told me he was four years old but he is still just a puppy! He loves to play chase with his ball.  He is very smart and loyal.  He gets a little too rambunctious sometimes so I have to get after him but he's learning.

amazing experience

Mammoth Cave brought us to Main St B&B, but Main St B&B will bring us back to Glasgow, KY! Absolutely amazing experience. Wonderfully charming home with so much history. Very cozy and clean room, delicious breakfast, and outstanding company! The kids wanted to extend our stay. Cherie was such a doll and exceeded our expectations. She was awesome with the kids and we enjoyed her company. Can't wait to be back!

The history of the Inn

In 1810 Samuel Jordan built the house for Mr. Giddings, a local School Master in Glasgow. Samuel Jordan was the jailer as well as a Master Brick Layer. Shortly after completion, the house was sold to Thomas Childs Dickinson. Thomas had taken a job at the First National Bank, then married the daughter of the bank president, Frances Stockton Hall. After Frances passed away T.C. Dickinson married Martha Virginia Day.

Someone from the Dickinson lived in the house until the last resident, Delvaux Greer passed away in 1996. The city bought the house and turned it into a historic building (the second oldest house in Glasgow). It was then later sold and turned into a Bed and Breakfast established in 2010.
The architecture resembles what was called a Flounder House in Virginia at the time. Originally the house had 7 rooms downstairs, 2 finished rooms upstairs and a basement with a huge fireplace used to heat the house, however, there is also a fireplace in the parlor and it is said that each room had a fireplace as well. The walls are 3-brick thickness with a plaster/lathe finish.
